Minnesota Special Olympics has made some changes to their scheduling of sports seasons and the State Games competitions. The Owatonna Area Special Olympics will have sports practices starting soon.

Swimming starts on March 17th, at 11:30 am, at the Owatonna Middle School pool. All practices will take place on Saturdays, with the area meet on April 29th, at the Recreation Center in Rochester. The head coach is Tim Schiltz.

Track and Field will start on April 10th, with practices being on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 pm. Track and field will practice at the Medford School track. The area meet is May 5th at Rochester John Marshall High School. The head coach is Sandra Magnuson.

Both of these sports will compete at State Games in June, at the University of St Thomas in St. Paul, June 22-24.
