Flu season is right around the corner and it's never to early too get your flu shot and be prepared for the winter months.

1 in 5 people get the flu each year and getting a flu shot is the best protection you can get. Steele County Public health has announced the dates and locations of school sponsored flu shot clinics you can visit to receive your flu shot. The minimum age to receive a shot is 6 months and up.

Those dates and locations are:

  • 10/20/2020 4:00pm - 7:00pm ISD 2168 NRHEG Schools - Ellendale
  • 11/2/2020 4:30pm - 7:30pm ISD 756 Blooming Prairie Elementary
  • 11/7/2020 9:00am - 12:00pm ISD 761 Roosevelt Community School

The following insurances will be accepted and will bill your health plan: Aetna, America’s PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, HealthPartners, Medica, Medicare, PreferredOne, PrimeWest, South Country Health Care Alliance, and United Healthcare. If you do not have any of the listed insurances, you are welcomed to purchase a vaccination the day of the clinic. Homeland Health is a MN Vaccines for Children Provider and will offer flu vaccine to uninsured children 6 months to 18 years of age. Cost if uninsured: Over 18 years: $35 injection OR $40 FluMist Cost if uninsured: 6 months to 18 years: $20
