Registration is now open for summer camp for youngsters at River Bend Nature Center in Faribault. They have camps in June, July and August for 6th-8th graders and for 3rd-5th graders. If you sign up by May 14 you will receive $50 off any full-day camp or $25 off any half-day camp. Check out River Bend's Facebook page to learn more.

Examples of some of the camps include one dealing with the power of the flower and pollination. There's a camp focusing on nature clues like animal tracks and DNA extraction. There's also a camp on edible plants found at River Bend. PreK-entering kindergarten will have a camp on bears, bees and honey.

Here's a program for adults coming up at River Bend. Its a Foodie Fest on Friday, May 17 from 6-8pm. You'll learn how to identify wild edibles that are found in this area. Then you'll cook up a meal that incorporates what you've found.
