Hayfield Boys Basketball

Some KDHL/POWER 96, KRFO, KAT KOUNTRY area coaches and teams were honored.

Hayfield hit 9 of 10 free throws in the second half while the Jaguars did not shoot a free throw during that half.

Hayfield is the defending Class A Minnesota Boys Basketball Champions!

Owatonna and Caledonia open in their respective classes at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively Tuesday, March 22, 2022, #2 seed Owatonna faces Cretin-Derham Hall and Caledonia tangles with Perham. Both are at the Target Center.

The coaches involved in each class of the tournament do the work of seeding the teams.

The Wildcats end their season with a 23-7 record while Hayfield is now 29-2 and goes to the Twin Cities to defend their 2021 State Class A title.

KDHL Radio, 920 AM, 97.9 FM, FREE KDHL app will broadcast the battle to go dancing at state and whichever teams goes we'll be there to provide baseline to baseline coverage of their possible journey to a title dance. Tip time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Owatonna is rated #9 in 4A rankings.

Kenyon-Wanamingo was not included in the latest Class 1A rankings after a few weeks at #20.

The K-W Knights played a tight game against Hayfield in the Vikings Fjord earlier this week.
