A Sauk Rapids teenager is facing charges after a fatal hit and run in St. Cloud Friday night.

The nation experienced a spike in violent crime last year, and sadly, the city of Minneapolis was not immune. Minneapolis reported 97 homicides in 2021, tying the all-time record set in 1995.

Farmington Police Chief Gary Rutherford said, “I want to reassure the community that this was not a random incident and there is no ongoing danger to the public. We are not looking for any additional suspects.”
