As the Steele County Blades junior hockey team prepares for its upcoming season, they are still seeking billet families to host an out-of-town players.

The Steele County Blades junior hockey team grabbed a quick 2-0 lead over the Dells Ducks Saturday but needed a late goal to get the victory, keeping the estimated 800 fans on the edge of their seats throughout the contest. Zach Bettmeng scored the winner midway through the third period for the 4-3 win.

Kory Potach scored in round three of the shootout to lift the team to a 5-4 win.

The Steele County Blades junior hockey team plays three home games over the weekend at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna, beginning Friday night against the league-leading Minnesota Blue Ox at 7:30PM.

The Steele County Blades junior hockey team is over a month into its sixth season of existence. While the team has its fair share of Minnesotans on the roster, players from around the country and world come to Owatonna to play for the team.

The Steele County Blades host the Minnesota Moose in U.S. Premier League junior hockey Friday night October 20 at 7:30PM at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna. The Blades split four games at the Chicago Showcase last weekend and enter play with a 3-5 record.
