When Will Ferrell hosts the Jan. 27 episode of Saturday Night Live, Chris Stapleton will be the musical guest. Stapleton will be the sketch comedy show's first country musical guest of 2018. His upcoming appearance will be Stapleton's second on SNL; in 2016, he made his debut on the show, performing "Nobody to Blame" and Parachute" from his debut solo album, Traveller. Saturday Night Live airs on Saturday nights at 11:30PM ET. -- AM

The Gill family has a new member! Singer-songwriter Jenny Gill -- daughter of Vince Gill and his ex-wife, Sweethearts of the Rodeo‘s Janis Oliver -- gave birth to her second child, Everly June Van Valkenburg, on Friday (Jan. 12) at 5:32PM. Jenny Gill and her husband, Josh Van Valkenburg, a senior vice president at Sony-ATV, also have a son, Wyatt, who was born in August of 2014. -- AS

Garth Brooks has announced plans to perform during the 25th annual Alive at the Bluebird concert series. On Feb. 1, Brooks will appear alongside Kent Blazy, Pat Alger, Victoria Shaw and Tony Arata at the 90-seat club, which holds a special place in his own musical history: According to a press release, Brooks was discovered by Capitol Records executive Lynn Shults at the Bluebird in 1988. Fans can make advance reservations for the show, which benefits Nashville's Alive Hospice, starting on Thursday (Jan. 18) at bluebirdcafe.com; reservations cost $250 per person. -- AM

This May, the icons of outlaw country will get their very own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The upcoming exhibition, titled Outlaws & Armadillos: Country's Roaring '70s, will explore the "decade of country rebellion," during which artists including Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Michael Martin Murphey and Jerry Jeff Walker (among others) paved a new sonic path. Outlaws & Armadillos: Country's Roaring '70s will debut at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on May 25 and is scheduled to run through Feb. 14, 2021. -- AM

Brandi Carlile, Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town and Alison Krauss will be on hand to pay tribute to Fleetwood Mac at the 2018 Musicares Person of the Year event. The special night will feature performances from these artists and from acts such as Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons and Keith Urban, who were added to the lineup earlier this year. The event will be held on Jan. 26, just ahead of the 2018 Grammy Awards ceremony, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. -- AM
