For the past ten years, the massive Ice Castles Sculpture attraction will be returning to Minnesota after a year off due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The company behind the event, Ice Castles LLC. uses ice grown on-site with the icicles harvested and crafted by super-skilled professional ice artisans.

These breathtaking handmade sculptures feature frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, fountains, ice statues, and more. The ice sculptures will be set up at  Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton starting in January of 2022. The last time the ice sculptures were in Minnesota they were in New Brighton back in 2020.  On top of the usual passageways, slides, and artwork, the upcoming Ice Castles will include an ice sculpture garden and winter light grove.

Bring Me The News reported an announcement from Mark McCabe, Ramsey County Parks & Recreation director, who said:

We are thrilled to be hosting Ice Castles at Long Lake Regional Park and are hoping for a good old-fashioned cold and snowy Minnesota winter so everyone can enjoy the full beauty Ice Castles will bring to the park.

Of course, the display is dependent on the weather and is typically open from January through March. This is a very popular event and does tend to sell out fast. It is highly recommended that you purchase tickets ahead of time. The days and hours that it is open are dependent on the weather and tickets are not available yet.

This attraction is done in 5 other states so we are awfully lucky to have it in Minnesota. What a great activity for family and friends alike with some awesome photo opportunities.  This is a great outdoor event and something to help embrace being out the cold snowy weather.
