This is Minnesota’s Favorite Christmas Movie, is it Yours?
Only 2 days till Christmas!! And hey if you can’t go anywhere for the holidays due to Minnesota’s blizzard, might as well spend time watching Christmas movies!
Did you know today is National Christmas Movie Marathon Day? What better way to celebrate it than a Friday night with family when it’s oh-so cold outside, and watch Minnesota's favorite holiday movie!
Did you know that the world’s first Christmas movie was a silent short made in 1898, titled ‘Santa Claus.’? National Today explains that the short film, “directed by George Albert Smith and at just over a minute long, was the first time that Santa Claus graced the screens. The film was about two children who are eagerly waiting for Santa Claus to make his appearance but are ordered to sleep. During the night, Santa slides down the chimney and leaves presents for the children.”
What is so amazing about holiday movies is that there is such a variety, there truly is a Christmas movie for everyone. From Elf, to Love Actually, to Die Hard, to Gremlins, there are so many options! I mean you could binge for hours! But that has me thinking… what is Minnesota’s favorite holiday movie?
National Today shares each state’s favorite Christmas movie and I couldn’t agree more with the Midwest!
Minnesota’s favorite Christmas movie is… Home Alone!
With Home Alone being such a Christmas classic, it makes sense, and Home Alone is also Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Illinois, Nebraska, and Indiana’s favorite! Go Midwest!
Would you agree with this being the Midwest favorite, or is your heart set on a different movie? Let me know on our Facebook page! Stay safe and warm and happy holidays!
