The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch in effect until 9:00 tonight for a large portion of southern Minnesota, including Blue Earth, Carver, Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Le Sueur, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, and Winona Counties (+more).

The National Weather Service has labeled this as a Particularly Dangerous Situation.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and near the watch area.

Several strong tornadoes are likely in and near the watch area, along with hail up to softball size, and wind gusts up to 90 mph.

Stay weather aware, have a safety plan in place, and have multiple wats to receive warnings.
