Foremost Brewing Welcomes Spring With Bockfest

This Saturday, February 26th, Foremost Brewing Cooperative in downtown Owatonna is hosting its first annual Bockfest.

The celebration welcomes the start of Spring and the return of Bob's Bada Bock beer to the brewery's line-up.

Throughout the day, Foremost will be offering the tradition of Beer Poking on their winterized patio.

According to a news release from the business, Beer Poking dates back to over 400 years ago and is the process of caramelizing beer with a steel rod that has been heated over a flame. 

"When the hot rod is immersed in cold beer, the beer warms and develops a marshmallow-like toasted character that is pleasantly soft and creamy on the palate - a bit like a Bock beer s’more."

The business will also be serving brats, sauerkraut, potato salad, and green beans, along with their regular menu, for the special event.

The 4-H Pasta Dinner and Silent Auction Returns For 17th Year

The wonderful 4-H pasta dinner returns to the Owatonna Middle School this Sunday, February 27th. The event runs from 3:30 to 7 pm, with silent auction tables closing at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 pm.

Tickets are $6.50 and are available from Steele County 4-H members or at the extension office, 635 Florence Ave., Owatonna. Otherwise, you can buy a ticket at the door for $7.

This fundraiser benefits the entire Steele County 4-H program, which includes over 1000 4-Hers and 150 volunteers.
