Carolyn Dawn Johnson is from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and drove 60 hours to be in Nashville nearly 20 years ago, according to her website.

Her first song to hit No. 1 was one that she wrote. It was "Single White Female" sung by Chely Wright. Her songs were also sung by Jo Dee Messina, SheDaisy and Patty Loveless. Johnson was named Breakthrough Artist by Music Row in 2000.

Her debut album, "Room With A View," produced a Top 5 hit, "Complicated," and a Top 10 hit, "I Don't Want You to Go."

She went on tour with Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire and many others.

Her second album in 2004 was "Dress Rehearsal." Independently in 2006, she released "Love & Negotiation" and in 2010 "Love Rules."

Johnson has been on several others artists' albums, including Miranda Lambert, Dan + Shay and Jana Kramer.

In 2004 and 2009, Johnson earned Producer of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards along with 17 awards that also include Female Vocalist of the Year five times.

In 2002, the ACMs named Carolyn Dawn Johnson the Top New Female Vocalist.

Carolyn Dawn Johnson continues to be a songwriter and singer.
