Two Suspects Connected to MOA Shooting are Still Wanted
Authorities have now charged three people in connection to the gunfire that occurred in the Mall of America on Thursday afternoon. Those three, which two are in connection to a hotel nearby are Denesh Raghubir, 21, of Minneapolis, Delyanie Kwen-Shawn Arnold, 23, of Burnsville, and Selena Raghubir, 23, of Bloomington (provided by an article from Bring Me The News).
While it is noted that Denesh and Selena Raghubir, and Arnold who helped the gunmen escaped are now charged with aiding an offender to avoid arrest, the two who are suspected to be the gunmen are still being searched for. The gunmen are claimed to be Shamar Alon Lark, 21, and his alleged accomplice, Rashad Jamal May, 23.
In an article by MPR it is explained that “after the gunfire, May contacted Delyanie Kwen-Shawn Arnold, a friend, for help escaping the mall, and that Arnold then contacted his girlfriend, Selena Raghubir, 23, an assistant manager at the Best Western hotel. She allegedly had her cousin who works at the hotel, Denesh Raghubir, drive the Best Western shuttle bus to the nearby Ikea parking lot to pick up May and Lark and bring them back to the hotel where prosecutors say Arnold met them and took him to his and Selena Raghubir’s home.”
Booker Hodges, Bloomington’s police chief, told reporters that what hurts the most about the situation is that “after police found surveillance video of May and Lark getting into the Best Western shuttle, they came to the hotel and questioned Denesh Raghubir, who allegedly told them he had last seen the pair outside smoking, which led to an intense search of the hotel grounds,” explains MPR, and Hodges admits “it did tie up a lot of law enforcement resources and I believe allowed them to escape."
While it is reported that no one was hurt in the incident, we still don’t know the nature of the argument and why it led to what happened. However, Bloomington law enforcement won’t rest until May and Lark are arrested.
