Vikings Gameday: Minnesota Hosts Tampa Bay in NFL Week 1 Today
The Minnesota Vikings will be looking to start the season with a win when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today at U.S. Banks Stadium in Week 1 of the new NFL season.
The Vikings are coming off a 13-4 regular season last year, before falling in defeat to the New York Giants in the Wild Card round.
Tom Brady has retired from the Buccaneers, who finished 8-9 last season which was good enough for first place finish in the NFC South before losing to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round. Baker Mayfield will get the start under center today for the Bucs.
For the Vikings, linebacker Marcus Davenport (ankle) is listed as 'questionable' as the only player on today's injury report for Minnesota.
For the Buccaneers, defensive lineman Calijah Kancey and offensive guard Cody Mauch are listed as 'questionable' for Tampa.
The Vikings and Buccaneers have met 56 times, with Minnesota currently holding a 33-23 advantage in the all-time series. The Vikings have won two of the past three matchups (19-13 in overtime in 2014 and 34-17 in 2017), but the Bucs claimed the latest contest 26-14 in 2020.

The Vikings will try to build on a 13-4 mark as Head Coach Kevin O'Connell takes his second season at the helm. There's tremendous continuity on offense from last season, despite a couple of key departures. The defense has six starters from the 2022 Week 1 game who are listed on the first team, but the group underwent multiple changes.
