According to the original report from our KROC-AM News Team, the plane landed around 9:30 p.m. on the northbound lanes of the interstate in Arden Hills. You can see the video of the landing below:

As you can see from the video, it was a very impressive landing by the pilot, who is a Minneapolis man. He comes in right above two vehicles and is able to land right behind another, and then does his best to change lanes and keep from injuring anyone. The plane did crash with one vehicle.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the landing caused the stretch of freeway to be closed for an extended period of time while the landing was investigated.

While it is still unknown why the landing was needed, but nonetheless it was impressive to see a plane land on a small stretch of road and keep anyone from being injured.

The pilot was identified as 52-year-old Craig Gifford of Minneapolis, and the aircraft was described by the Minnesota State Patrol as a "single-engine Bellanca Viking." The incident is still under investigation.
