The Steele County Indivisible along with the University of Minnesota Extension and Steele County Master Gardeners will be a part of an educational presentation on how Owatonna can become a Pollinator Friendly City. It will take place Tuesday, January 22 at 6pm in the City Council chambers prior to the City Council meeting which will begin at 7pm.

Becoming a Pollinator Friendly City would involve the planting of plants that are conducive to helping pollinators thrive. These would be plants that need little to no pesticides. It could also involve restoring and increasing habitat throughout the city that would be friendly for beneficial insects, butterflies and other pollinators.

Steele County Indivisible meets the second Tuesday of each month at noon and the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm at the Owatonna Public Library. Past topics that have been covered include farming practices and health care for all. The meetings are free and open to all interested parties.
