Monday could not have been a nicer day to have Dan Gladden hit ground balls at me or hear stories from Bert Blyleven. Was it a dream? It was Twins Fantasy Camp for radio affiliate stations.

I fielded many of the ground balls, then threw wildly back to the shagger. I even hit a few line drives during a batting practice session, along with several foul tips and whiffs. But my true fantasy would be to call a game from Target Field. At last year's camp I got the view from the press box that Cory Provus, Gladden and Blyleven enjoy each game.

The high school state championship games are held at Target Field. It seemed this might be Owatonna's year, but they got derailed by a future Division I pitcher during the section tournament and were eliminated on Saturday.

I've had the pleasure and privilege of calling games at US Bank Stadium, Xcel Energy Centre, Metrodome, Met Center, Target Center, Williams Arena, Mariucci Arena and others. I look forward to the day that Owatonna or one of our local teams gets the chance to play at Target Field. Players on the field and me in the press box is the proper order of things.
