The National Weather Service says there's increasing confidence in a winter storm impacting parts of Minnesota Friday into Saturday.

With it's arrival still several days away, there remains much uncertainty regarding the specifics of the storms timing, track, and snowfall amounts.

Whatever develops will be messy, with snow on the north side of the system, and rain on the south side -- with a wintry mix in between.

The National Weather Service also says we could see some localized heavy rainfall from thunderstorms near the Iowa border Thursday night, with the threat of accumulating snow increasing for Friday into Friday night.

This is a heads up that you may have to make alternate plans if you have late week travel plans.
