
Winona Man Hurt In Deadly Crash In Northern Minnesota

Deer River, MN (KROC AM News) - A Winona man was among five people involved in a deadly traffic crash in northern Minnesota.
The State Patrol says the crash happened around 7:30 Friday morning in rural Itasca County near the town of Deer River.
The accident report says a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Jacob Starck of Deer River lost control on a slippery road, crossed into the other lane and collided with an oncoming pickup truck.
Starck was not wearing a seatbelt and was killed.
The truck was driven by 43-year-old Thomas Speltz of Trempealeau, Wisc. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did his three passengers. They were identified as 46-year-old Eric Speltz of Winona, 38-year-old Joseph Speltz of Blaine and 73-year-old Robert Speltz of Blair, Wisc.
