The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight through 10:00 pm Sunday night for a portion of southern Minnesota.

Included in the Winter Weather Advisory are Dakota, Dodge, Mower, Freeborn, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Steele, and Waseca Counties (+more), as well as the entire Twin Cities metro area.

Anywhere from three to five inches of snow accumulation can be expected across roughly the eastern half of Minnesota. Strong winds will cause blowing and drifting snow, and poor visibility.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
