Women Invited to Apply for Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener

The Minnesota Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener will be held in Austin this October. Women who are new to pheasant hunting or would like to learn more are invited to apply for the mentored hunt being offered. The application deadline is Friday, June 28. Women taking the mentored hunt offer will be able to learn skills to hunt pheasant on October 11 under the guidance of experienced women pheasant hunters. They will then take to the field on Saturday, October 12. You may also take part in the festivities of the weekend as well including a banquet, breakfast and more.

To apply you need to have a firearms safety certificate and if selected, you will need to purchase a small game hunting license and pheasant stamp. A lottery will be used to select from the applicants.
