Work on New Steele Co Fair Barn to Start Monday

Steele County Free Fair Manager Scott Kozelka was our guest on Fair Talk on AM 1390 this morning. There's going to be a number of new things to check out at this summers fair. Many of you have noticed the new electric sign at the corner of the fairgrounds. A bit of landscaping is needed and that project will be finished.

Tiling is just days away from starting at the site of the old race track with a new fence due to go up. This will be followed by electrical work and the placing of sod.The newly opened area will be the new home for the KRFO Pig Races.This is also where the new act, the All Star Stunt Dogs will perform. Also the U.S. Marines will set up a simulation in the field display. There will be a ninja kids area and the Bubble Ultimate Sports is returning with 5 more attractions. A couple of new food vendors will be located there as well.

The builders of the new barn at the fairgrounds have been notified that shipments were expected to begin on Friday, June 14. Work on building the new barn should start either Monday, June 17 or Tuesday, June 18.

Date for the Steele County Free Fair are August 13-18.
