It's time once again for our adoptable animal of the week, which this week is a kitten from Helping Paws of Southern Minnesota. Get ready to meet Zip!

With some background on this adoptable kitten, and on his siblings, here is what volunteer Michaela Tews had to share.

Zip is a Male kitten born 7/27/21. He is a wonderful lively kitten who is looking for Adventure in his new home. He would love to be adopted with one of his siblings. (Zen, Zoe, Zach, Ziggy, Zazu). All pets adopted from Helping Paws of Southern Minnesota will have age-appropriate vaccinations, testing and alterations included in their adoption fee!

Fill out an application to adopt on their website here.

Hopefully, we can find Zip and his siblings all some great homes before too long.

Now here is an update on one of our previously featured adoptable animals, Zeus. He was recently adopted and seems to be doing really well.

Remember when adopting an animal from a humane society or animal shelter it will take time for both you and your new pet to acclimate to one another and to the new space. Patience is key to transitioning your new best friend into your home or apartment.

With the holidays coming, yes we are already past the halfway point in October, it might seem like the right time to get a new puppy or kitten for your family, but remember getting a pet is a lifetime commitment. Perhaps look towards an area shelter and give one of those animals a home for the holidays instead.
