9 Amazing Spots To Check Out in Minnesota This Spring
As soon as "Spring Break" shows up on the kids' calendar, it feels like everyone in Minnesota packs up their swimsuits to fly off to Mexico or some beach for Spring Break. That's not my family. In fact, my kid came up to me the other day and said, "Mom, are WE doing anything fun for Spring Break?"
I'm not exactly sure what my kid has in mind but I thought I'd try to find something in the area that he'd love. In all of my Googling, I found quite a few fun places, events, and spots that any kid would love. There is one that I really want to do...just not sure how to get out of work to make it happen yet. Just in case you are doing a staycation too, I'll share the list below to save you a bit of searching:
Visit Lark Toys!
- Bring some cash because this is one toy store you will definitely have kids begging for a toy. Rides on the hand-carved carousel are fun for the whole family too...and it is so cool to see!

- See eagles soar through the air in Wabasha and also at the exhibits inside.

Explore the Minnesota Zoo
- The Minnesota Zoo is located in Apple Valley and is a great place to take the family for a full day of fun. Right now, there are even dolphins at the Minnesota Zoo!

Say "Hi" to the Animals at Como Park Zoo
- One of Minnesota's gems is Como Zoo. You'll enjoy a full day of fun visiting all of the animals like gorillas, giraffes, and so many more! And the best park, it is free!

Enjoy the Animals and Trails at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo
- If you are looking for a really close zoo to Rochester, Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo in Bryon is your destination. There are some great animals that you can see very close.

Go for a hike at Quarry Hill Nature Center
- Rochester has so many amazing trails and parks that you can explore. One that our family loves is Quarry Hill Nature Center. The trails are great and it is fun to hike up to where the fossils are and go on a hunt.

Enjoy the outdoors at Whitewater State Park
- If you are up for a little drive, Whitewater State Park isn't too far away and is a great place to check out some trails too!

Hang out at the Mall of America
- One of the hot spots during Spring Break in Minnesota is obviously the Mall of America. Check out The Lego Store, enjoy the rides at Nickelodeon Universe, have fun at the Crayola Experience or wave at the fish at the aquarium.
