According to an emailed update to Owatonna Chamber Members from Brad Meier Owatonna Chamber President and CEO, there is another peaceful protest scheduled for today at 12:30. Some area roads will be closed ahead of the gathering.

The peaceful protest is stated online as being "dialogue-based and peaceful." Those attending today at the Owatonna Law Enforcement Center are also being encouraged to "bring signs." The event page states that those in attendance should be 15-years-old or older due to "the higher risk of things going south."

The event organizer Percy Mayer stated on the events page online that she has been "working directly with the OPD and city [council.]" The end goal of the peaceful protests is "For this town [Owatonna] to be a safe, community-based town for EVERY citizen."

The roads affected by the peaceful protest are:

North Elm Avenue between Vine Street and Rose Street
East Pearl Street between N. Cedar Avenue and Grove Avenue
The 100-200 block alley between N. Cedar Avenue and Grove Avenue
The 100 block alley between N. Cedar Avenue and Elm Avenue

The road closures will take effect at 10:30 Saturday morning according to a letter from the Owatonna Police Department.
