The city of Blooming Prairie is buzzing with great news and I am here to share it with you!

In a recent press release, Blooming Prairie’s Chamber of Commerce shares that they have a new executive director!

Let's welcome Karen as the new Blooming Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director! Karen has been a dedicated member since 2018, as well as a board member since 2019. Karen is the proud owner of Confections by Karen, where she bakes cakes, cookies, and other delicious items. She also founded a much-needed nonprofit called the Blooming Prairie Backpack Program, feeding students since 2017. Karen has also been a valuable substitute teacher in three districts since 2018. As you can see, Karen brings many important qualities to the Chamber.

In addition to the chamber’s news, Blooming Prairie also shares about the winners of the 2022 citizen of the year recipients!

Congratulations Ken & Judy Esplan, our 2022 Citizen of Year Recipients! The Banquet to celebrate and honor them will be Thursday, January 26,  at the Pizza Cellar. There will be a Social Hour at 5 pm, then a Dinner at 6pm & the 2022 Annual Meeting. At 7 pm there will be a Guest Speaker: Becky Noble, and Award Presentation: Karen Peterson. Tickets must be purchased by January 17, 2023!
