The Cannon Falls Bombers scored three touchdowns in the 3rd quarter on their way to a 52-26 win over Plainview-Elgin-Millville Friday night at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls.  The Bombers were rated #6, Bulldogs #8 going into the game according to the Minnesota Associated Press.

Head Coach Dan Meyers says, "This was a great team effort against a very tough PEM team.  The run game up the middle to Carson Hammel was huge again.  The offensive line wore PEM down."

Hammel ran 13 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns.  Quarterback Colton Otto had 3 carries for 29 yards and two scores.  Riley Keenan 7 runs for 35 yards and a TD.

Freshman Jack Meyers ran an interception back 31 yards for a touchdown with 20 seconds to go in the third quarter.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville opened the scoring with 10:55 to go in the first quarter on a 67 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Connor McGuire to junior receiver Brady Herber.  The extra point was no good.

At 3:57 of third quarter Cannon Falls scored on a Keenan 3 yard run.  Keenan ran in the two point conversion to give the Bombers the lead for good.

With 6 seconds to go in the first frame Hammel darted 52 yards for a score.  Keenan ran in the two point conversion again.

6:53 to go in the first half the Bulldogs scored when junior Hunter Tentis dove into the end zone from 1 yard out.  The extra point kick was good.

2:13 to go in the half the Bombers extended their lead when Otto ran in from 2 yards out.  Kal Anderson ran in the two point conversion.

The halftime score was Cannon Falls 24 P-E-M 13.

The Bulldogs made it a one score game after Tentis had a 3 yard TD run with 6:07 to go in the third quarter.  The two point run attempt was no good.

Hammel scored his second Touchdown on an 11 yard run with 2:13 to go.  Keenan ran in the two point conversion.

:37 seconds to go in the quarter Kal Anderson scored for the Bombers on a 6 yard run.  The two point attempt was no good.

Then Jack Meyers scored with Spencer Krinkie kicking the extra point.  The score was 45-18 going into the final quarter.

7:16 to go in the game Otto punched in a 3 yard touchdown run.  Krinkie kicked the extra point.

With 3:21 to go Plainview-Elgin-Millville's Mcguire dove in the end zone from a yard out.  The extra point kick was good.

The Bulldogs had 281 total yards.  68 rushing, 213 passing.

Cannon Falls finished the game with  381 yards on the ground and 17 through the air for 398 total yards.

The Bombers attempted 2 passes with 1 completion and a interception.

Cannon Falls closes their season at top ranked Lake City Wednesday night.

They are both in the same section so this is more than likely for the top seed and a first round bye in the 7 team Section 1AAA.
