The Chatfield Police Department issued a warning to area residents that calls have been coming in and trying to convince you that you will be arrested or someone you love has been arrested if you don't send them some type of compensation.

Chatfield Police posted to their Facebook Page a few days ago that people are requesting private information to try and scam you out of your own hard-earned money. Take a look at the post yourself.

As always, don't trust Caller ID as scammers can find ways around it to get local numbers to show up on your phone. You also don't want to click on any links texted to you that you don't trust.

Keep in mind that there are several different methods that scammers have used to try and get the best of you. Here is just another reminder to keep your eyes open and keep your private information to yourself.
