Car Cruise enthusiasts and the Faribault Main Street organization were determined not to let the dreary weather dampen the fun of the June Car Cruise night in downtown Faribault on Friday. Despite a few sprinkles right as the event began and grey skies, there were still great cars to check out, food for purchase, and music!

For the second month in a row, less than ideal weather has tried to interrupt the Faribault Main Street Car Cruise. In May, cold temperatures kept some people at bay, and for June, the looming threat of rain was ever present. Not to be deterred, the signs were hung, the yellow vests donned, the music from Mike Eiler of Power 96 played, and cars, trucks, and motorcycles began rolling in. Friday was Bikes, Trikes, and Automobiles night, and while the numbers were less than expected, organizers acknowledged that the success of outdoor events directly correlates to the weather, and remain excited about the future events.

There are several car cruise events remaining this summer, and Faribault Main Street hopes to see a great turn out. The July 21 event is themed Horses and Horse Power to tie in with the Rice County Fair that also takes place that week.   On, August 18, the second annual Car Club Showdown takes place. This was a huge event last year bringing in a large amount of cars, visitors, and fun. A special September event has been added on the 15 and will take place at Faribault Harley Davidson with two live bands.
