The Good news. It's nice outside. Temperatures are in the 50's. The bad news, the National Weather Service says there is an elevated fire danger in many parts of the state.

The advisory affects the following counties. Anoka, Benton, Blue Earth, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Douglas, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Le Sueur, Martin, McLeod, Mille Lacs, Nicollet, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Steele, Todd, Waseca, Washington and Wright.

The statement from the weather service says burning should be avoided the rest of today(Tuesday.) Northwest winds gusting up to 35 miles per hour will combine with humidity values in the 25 to 30 percent range to increase fire danger. Fires that develop may spread quickly.
