Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel

If you've never heard about Twiggy, she gained popularity back in 1979. A couple in Florida, Chuck and Lou Ann, found a baby squirrel that had been blown from her nest. They took her and they brought her everywhere.

On Twiggy's website, they say,

Chuck bought his daughter a remote controlled boat for her birthday. Their friends started teasing him saying that he bought it for himself, since he played with it all the time. Defending himself, he quipped, “I have to learn to drive the boat so I can teach my squirrel to water-ski!"

And so they did! And everyone wanted to see it. National TV shows were calling, people wanted to book Twiggy shows. Now, Twiggy has been to different countries with her show.

Of course, 'Twiggy' has been around for 44 years so... they're on, like, Twiggy number 4 or 5. But Chuck and Lou Ann's son has kept the shows going and they're bringing Twiggy to the Mall of America this weekend!

If you want to see Twiggy, the water skiing squirrel, they'll have shows at noon, 2 PM , and 4 PM on Friday, June 22nd, Saturday, June 23rd, and Sunday, June 24th.
