Faribault Parks and Recreation Director Paul Penansky stops by KDHL today for AM Minnesota at 9:30 a.m.  We have a couple specific topics to discuss.

The Faribault City Council approved more improvements to the Bell Field Grandstand in preparation for the 2022 Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament being hosted by the Lakers.

The Faribault Aquatic Center suffered through a miserable swimming season.  Cool temperatures existed most of the summer and there were a number of rainy days.

In June it rained 13 days with a total of 3.23 inches.

In July it rained 15 days with a total of 6.43 inches.

In August it rained 13 days with a total of 5.34 inches.

That's a total of 14.69 inches those three months.

Those numbers are from the Waseca Southern Experiment Station and obviously could be different from Faribault but it gives you an idea of what was experienced.  I'm guessing Faribault has similar numbers.

From the first of the year through the end of August the region received approximately 32 inches of precipitation.

If you can't tune in this morning.  Come back to this page and the audio will be available hear for you to listen at your leisure.
