The Faribault Falcons girls hockey team defeated Rochester Century 6-0 at the Faribault Ice Arena tonight.  The Falcons outshot the Panthers 37-7.  Senior goalie Mikayla Bohner was in net for the shutout.

Rochester Century goalie, freshman Abigail Conners had a number of nice saves in the game.  The Panthers appeared to clog up the middle in the first period when Faribault had 10 shots and scored one goal.  At 10:49 into the first period junior Alli Velander scored on a nice pass from senior Olivia Williamson after she was fed the puck by her sister freshman Bergen Williamson .  The Panthers had 2 shots on goal.

7:31 into the second period Velander scored again on an assist from junior Anna Selly.  Selly then scored at 16:00 assisted by Williamson and Williamson got an unassisted goal 26 seconds later to make it 4-0. The Falcons outshot the Panthers 18-3 in the second period.

The third period goals came at 6:12, junior Rylie Starkson scored assisted by senior Emily Wilder.  7:34 senior Abigail Goodwin was assisted by Williamson and senior Serenity Knott. Faribault pulled back a bit in the period with 9 shots to Rochester Century's 2.

Williamson had a goal and 3 assists, Velander two goals, Selly a goal and an assist for multiple point nights.

Faribault is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big Nine.  Rochester Century falls to 0-4. 0-2 in conference play.  The Panthers host Irondale at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Century has scored 1 goal so far this season.

The Falcons travel to Northfield Thursday night for a game that will be broadcast on KDHL Radio, 920 AM, the FREE KDHL app worldwide beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Raiders took it to Albert Lea tonight 8-0 in Albert Lea.  Northfield sophomore goalie Maggie Malecha has a 1.25 goals against average and .952 save percentage with two shutouts.

The Raiders are 3-0 overall, 1-0 in Big Nine action.  Northfield has wins over Hastings (3-0) and Mound Westonka (6-3) at home in addition to tonight's road victory.  The Raiders have two seniors on their team.
