The Faribault Falcons coaches thought they might be a #8 seed Wednesday and open their playoff season at home.  They are the #9 seed and travel to Rochester Century.  The Falcons defeated Century during the regular season and both teams have 13-13 records.

The Falcons defeated Rochester Century in Rochester September 26 by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-17.  The Panthers defeated Farmington a team Faribault lost to twice.

Faribault defeated #3 seed John Marshall, Century lost to them.  The Falcons defeated Mankato East.  Century lost to them.

The Panthers lost to H-V-L Cannon Falls, beat Rochester Lourdes while Faribault defeated Zumbrota-Mazeppa and lost to Kenyon-Wanamingo.

The Falcons lost to state ranked Class A Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, state ranked Class AA Concordia Academy and Stewartville.  Rochester Century defeated Class A state ranked Caledonia, 6 win Class A Southland and Class A Hayfield.

Northfield is the top seed with a record of 27-1.  Their only loss to undefeated Class AAA top rated Eagan.  Lakeville North (20-8) is the #2 seed and will play the winner of the #10 Owatonna (5-22) at #7 Farmington (11-16) match.

#3 seed Rochester John Marshall (20-6) hosts the #11 Austin (11-14) at #6 Winona (15-11) winner.

#4 seed Rochester Mayo (17-8) will be home Friday against the #5 Lakeville South (15-13) versus Albert Lea (0-15) winner.

The Faribault/Century victor goes to #1 Northfield Friday.
