Heading To The Season Finale For The Minnesota Vikings Sunday? Bring A Mask Along
With the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul implementing mask mandates for businesses and public spaces starting tonight at 5pm, fans clad in Vikings gear on Sunday for the season finale at US Bank Stadium should also plan on bringing along a mask, as the mandate extends to event venues as well.
The Minnesota Vikings posted about the mask requirement ahead of the Sunday tilt against the Chicago Bears.
Due to the city-wide mask mandate announced today by Mayor Frey and the City of Minneapolis, all fans attending Sunday's Vikings-Bears game at U.S. Bank Stadium will be required to wear face coverings at all times inside the stadium, except when eating or drinking.
As we have throughout the pandemic, we will continue to comply with state and local guidelines in the best interests of health and safety.
The announcement of requiring masks inside US Bank stadium didn't sit well with some fans of the team, as evidenced by comments made to the social media post about the game-day change.
One of the more popular comments to the masking announcement was whether or not paper bags would be considered sufficient after what many fans of the team consider to be an embarrassing year for the franchise.
Unbelievably the Minnesota Vikings and the staff at US Bank Stadium did not answer the question over a paper bag being an acceptable mask/facial covering.
The game Sunday at noon will be the last game for the Minnesota Vikings this season, one that started with playoff hopes, was marred with last-second losses, and has the VIkings coming home after being beaten sufficiently in Green Bay last weekend, as the NFC North Division rival claimed the #1 spot in the playoffs, and home games through the Super Bowl.
