Target Field in Minneapolis hosted the annual NHL Winter Classic last weekend, and you have to check out these way-cool drone videos you might have missed!

Minnesota is known as The State of Hockey, so when the National Hockey League (NHL) announced that its annual outdoor hockey game (known as the Winter Classic) was coming back to the Land of 10,000 (Frozen) Lakes and would feature the Wild hosting the St. Louis Blues, it seemed like a perfect fit.

Target Field in Minneapolis was chosen as the site and was completely transformed into a winter wonderland, literally, with the regulation rink and several others taking the place of the usual infield and outfield we're used to seeing during the spring and summer.

And, Minnesota's winter weather didn't disappoint, either. The temperature during the puck drop at 6:20 pm on Saturday, January 1st in Minneapolis was a balmy 7 degrees... BELOW ZERO. Which set an all-time record for the coldest NHL game ever played.

In fact, the Athletic reported that viewership was up too, with Minnesota's Winter Classic setting a record for the most-watched cable NHL regular-season game of all time. "The TNT broadcast drew 1.362 million viewers, which also makes it the most-watched NHL game thus far for the 2021-22 season on any network," the Athletic noted.

And even though the Wild ended up on the short end of the stick during the actual game, losing to the Blues 6-4, the NHL, Twins and Wild all did an incredible job of promoting the Minnesota winter experience on display during the Classic.

In fact, the NHL put together two incredible drone videos that give you a way-cool view of Target Field you've no doubt never seen before. Keep scrolling to check 'em out! And, keep scrolling to check out some other magical parts of winter in Minnesota too!
