Update: Officials Issue Statement on Investigation into Fire That Claimed the Lives of Jessi Pierce, Her Children & Dog

White Bear Lake, MN (MinnesotaNow)- The woman who perished in a house fire in the Twin Cities with her three children has been identified as Jessi Pierce, a beloved Minnesota sports personality.

The White Bear Lake Fire Department says crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire in a single-family home in the 2100 block of Richard Ave. just before 5:30 Saturday morning. 

The home was described as “fully engulfed” when firefighters got to the scene.

White Bear Lake Housefire Claims Lives of Beloved Sports Personality Jessi Pierce & Her Children

A search of the residence led to the discovery of three deceased children, an adult, and a dog, a news release says. 

On Sunday, NHL Media identified Pierce and her children, Hudson, Cayden and Avery, as the victims of the tragic fire.

Reactions have poured out from the sports world following the identification of Pierce. 

The 37-year-old mother covered the Minnesota Wild for NHL.com for the past 10 seasons and was also employed by the team. 

“Jessi was a kind, compassionate person that cared deeply about her family and those around her. She served as a dedicated ambassador for the game of hockey during her time covering the Wild and the NHL,” reads part of a statement issued by the Wild. 

Pierce was also the host of the “Bardown Beauties” podcast on the SKOR North network. 

“Jessi was a joy to be around and work with. She was a bright light for us at SKOR North- both as a wildly talented podcast host and as a caring friend,” said SKOR North Leader Phil Mackey in a statement. 

Fire Investigation Continues

The White Bear Lake Fire Department says the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation into the deadly fire. 

Officials plan to provide more information when it becomes available.
