Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota lawmakers are being asked to fix a glitch in the legislation that was approved last year to fund the expansion of Highway 14 to four lanes between Dodge Center and Owatonna.

State Department of Transportation Commissioner Margaret Anderson Kelliher says a "technical issue" in the bill authorizing the sale of trunk highway bonds to finance the $160 million project could delay the issuance of those bonds for 2 to 4 years, but a stand-alone bill with bipartisan support to fix the problem is before the state legislature. If all goes as planned, Commissioner Kelliher says Governor Walz should be able to sign the bill into law in a timely fashion, clearing the way for the state to sell the needed bonds by the late spring or early summer.

MnDOT is currently in the process of acquiring the land needed for the realignment and expansion of the highway.
