Jaylen Twyman was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings back in May. The defensive lineman who was the 199th pick in the NFL draft was shot four times on Monday in Washington DC.

His agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN he was shot in the “arm, leg, buttocks, and shoulder” but is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term injuries. The Minnesota Vikings acknowledged the shooting on Twitter on Monday. Read the team's statement below.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman was one of several victims wounded during a shooting in Washington, DC, today. We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery. At this time we will defer any further comment to the proper authorities.

Meanwhile, the Vikings continue to work through the offseason and prepare for training camp. This year’s training camp will be open to the public and will feature 14 practices, and for the first time, the team will also host a scrimmage at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, August 7. The Vikings have two joint practices scheduled with the Denver Broncos on August 11th & 12th.

4,000 free general admission digital tickets will be available for 10 of the practices which will be held at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center. Those tickets must be reserved in advance. The team will have four premier practices (listed below) during the 2021 U.S. Bank Vikings Training Camp, which will be available starting at $10 per ticket.
