March 14 is National Potato Chip Day. Boy, do we Americans eat the chips. The group Statista states just under 35 million Americans ate 16 or more bags of chips in 2018. Let's take a look at some old classic TV commercials featuring chips. I'll include a little something extra about each character in the ad.

I suppose this ad wouldn't wash in 2019 but listen to the voice. Ring a bell?

Did you recognize the voice of Mel Blanc? The voice of Porky Pig and Daffy Duck.

Now the actor who voiced the Cheetos Mouse was the voice of someone else you may remember. However it would be really really hard to tell from this old ad.

The voice is that of Allen Swift. He also voiced Simon Bar Sinister and Riff Raff from the Underdog Carton series.

Now here is not only a familiar voice but a familiar face.

You've just listened to the voice of Snagglepuss the cartoon character famous for his "Heavens to Mergatroid" saying. How about the face of Bert Lahr? Ad some whiskers and a tail and you have the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz.

Enjoy your chips and go ahead, eat more than one.
