Each year we are welcomed with a new movie adaptation of books we love, and each year we love to compare the two, and debate which one we preferred. But what is really exciting about this year is that there are not one, not two, but three screen adaptations of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s most popular books. Here’s a quick summary of what to expect!

Book 1: Daisy Jones and The Six

Okay, so while this one might be a TV show coming in 2022, it is still a good mention. The book, written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, is about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous breakup, according to Goodreads. The story takes you through Daisy and her start to fame and how she crossed paths with Billy Dunne.

The TV show stars names such as Riley Keough (Daisy Jones), Sam Claflin (Billy Dunne), Suki Waterhouse (Karen Sirko), and many more, and will be on Amazon Prime sometime around September.

Book 2: One True Loves

Another Taylor Jenkins Reid mention and this one will be a movie coming out sometime in 2022! According to the movie's Wikipedia, One True Loves is about Emma Blair, who “after her husband Jesse disappears in a helicopter crash, Emma moves back to Massachusetts in an effort to mend her life back together. Four years later, Emma runs into her old best friend, Sam, and they become inseparable. Newly engaged, Emma receives an unexpected phone call revealing Jesse is alive. Completely torn, Emma must now choose between a husband and a fiancé.”

The movie, directed by Andy Flickman (director of She’s The Man, The Game Plan, etc) will come out soon starring Phillipa Soo (Emma Blair), Luke Bracey (Jesse), and Simu Liu (Sam).

Book 3: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

Probably one of the most popular Taylor Jenkins Reid novels right now is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. The summary of the book on Goodreads states “aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready, to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself… [As Monique begins to listen] it becomes clear that [Evelyn’s] life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.”

While a lot of the film adaptation is still in talks and the date is still unknown, many are already excited. The movie will be a Netflix adaptation and according to a cosmopolitan article, the writer of the film is Liz Tigelaar, who was an executive producer for Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere. There is no set cast yet, but keep your eyes peeled!
