Reports of 13-17 inches in and around Owatonna Monday. Now the cleanup begins but there are a few other things to consider. Here we go.

Townsquaremedia 1Ice
Remember we received rain before the snow. Keep that in mind when driving and walking. It's slippery under that snow.

grcorbin Townsquaremedia 2Meters and Pipes
Clear the snow that's drifted up onto your utility meters and over your furnace pipes. If your furnace pipe is block it could run too hot. If you have ice on your meter, contact OPU and they'll remove it safely. Don't bang the ice off with a hammer!

Shoveling Snow
As you know this snow was a heavy wet snow. Go slowly and take breaks. This is what we often refer to as 'heart attack snow'

Townsquaremedia 4Look Up
Look up. You might have snow that drifted over the edge of your roof like we have at KRFO. I spent ten minutes in the parking lot jiggling a bag of donuts and calling John Connor outside to get some. He didn't take the bait. He's a wise old man. Seriously, when strolling downtown, look up and adjust accordingly when walking.
