The Owatonna Foundation's impact on the community can be seen in many projects and through years of awarding scholarships. Now the longtime philanthropic group has a new Executive Director to "increase the Foundation's visibility and impact on our community," says Foundation President Tom Dufresne.

Angela Wanger Golzales was approved unanimously by the foundation recently to be promoted to Executive Director. "I wish to thank the Board of Trustees, and the Executive Committee for their belief in me, and I look forward to working with this talented group of individuals to continue our amazing 64-year history of making Owatonna a better place to live, work, and raise a family."

Gonzales adds in a news release, "Telling the story of this wonderful Foundation is a job that comes naturally to me because I believe so strongly in their mission."

She joined the foundation as an Administrative Assistant in August 2021 and was promoted to Executive Coordinator upon the retirement of Laura Resler. Gonzales "was instrumental in helping design a new website and promote the foundation through a stronger online presence and increasing the reach of [the] Foundation through social media. She has served with many local nonprofits and fostered relationships with many groups, businesses, and individuals in the community," states the news release.

An extensive search and interview process led the committee to name Gonzales to the role. Dufresne adds, "I'm excited to have Angela Gonzales as our new Executive Director. She has worked hard in her time with us."
