Paradise Center for the Arts Children’s Theatre Season

Paradise will offer 3 different children's theatre camps, for three different age groups, each camp will end with production(s) for the public. Acting Fun for Little Ones for 3-7-year-olds, Disney’s Lion King Jr. for ages 7 and up, and Pride & Prejudice for ages 13 to 18 years old for the more experienced actors. Camps and performances will provide high-quality arts experiences for students/actors through the process of learning acting skills, actor and audience etiquette, and most importantly have FUN! Child's Play Theatre's Andrew Velishek will instruct, and direct the three camps/productions.

Acting Fun for Little Ones 6 Saturdays Feb. 10, 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 10:00am - 11:30am classes with a performance on March 17 at 11 AM. Tuition $75, scholarships are available. Acting Fun for Little Ones is an introduction to acting, theater and using your imagination.  Over the course of the class, kids will participate in a variety of acting games, art activities and rehearsal of a selected group of Aesop's Fables.  A final performance of the kids’ rendition of Aesop's Fables will be performed on the final day of class starting at 11 AM.  Family and Friends are encouraged to join us for the performance!

Ticket prices for March 17th performance: Adult $5/student $3.

Disney’s Lion King Jr.  3 weeks of rehearsals, July 30 - August 17 (M-F) from 8:00am-12: 00 pm, 3 shows Friday, August 17 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, August 18 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tuition $85, scholarships are available. Ages 7 and up. Disney’s The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world. The African Savannah comes to life on the Paradise Center for the Arts stage with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters that journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. Everyone has a role to play in this great tale. The show has 17 main speaking/singing roles with additional ensemble roles. There are additional opportunities for kids who are interested in learning about lighting, sound design, and backstage management.  Auditions July 9 and 10 4:00pm-6:00pm. Ticket Prices: Adult $10/student $5.

Pride and Prejudice Rehearsals August 27, 28, 29, 30, Sept 4, 6, 10, 11, 13, 17, 18, 20, 24, 25, 27, Oct. 1, 2, 4, 5, 3:15pm-5:15pm, 3 shows Friday October 5 at 7:00pm,  Saturday October 6 at 1:00pm, and 7:00pm,. Tuition $75, scholarships are available. Ages 13 and up. Four proposals, three rejections, two marriages and one scandal. Jane Austen's classic romantic comedy with her wonderful characters: witty, free-spirited Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters, including the lovely Jane; Mrs. Bennet, who only wants what’s best. Everyone has a role to play. There are additional opportunities for kids who are interested in learning about lighting, sound design, and backstage management. Ticket prices: Adult $5/student$3. Auditions will be August 13, 14 4:00-6: 00 pm.
