Today is Election Day, and the first mid-term election since 2018. In Minnesota we're voting for a Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, U.S Senator, and a bunch of other state and local offices.

A 'midterm election' refers to the fact that this is not a presidential election, but instead coming in the middle of the current presidential term.

Here's a bunch of info that we hope makes voting in southern Minnesota a bit easier for you today.

When Can I Vote?

If you haven't voted early or with an absentee ballot today's your day. Most polling sites in Minnesota will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. If you're in line by 8:00 pm, you'll be allowed to vote. (Minnesota towns with less than 500 registered voters are not required to open until 10:00 am, but most still choose to open at 7:00 am.)

Where Do I Vote?

Well that's easy. The State of Minnesota has created an easy online page for you to enter your county or zip code, and street address to reveal your polling place HERE.

Who Can Vote in Minnesota?

To vote in Minnesota you need to be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years old on Election Day
  • A resident of Minnesota for 20 days
  • Finished with all parts of any felony sentence

Can I Still Register to Vote in Minnesota Today?

In one word, YES. To register at your polling place on Election Day, bring one proof of residence listed HERE on Minnesota's voting info page.

  • U.S. Representative
  • Governor & Lt. Governor
  • Secretary of State
