Steele County Fair to Feature 1960s Cars
Todd Hale's guest on Fair Talk, which airs Thursday mornings at 9:40AM on AM 1390, included Steve Stansbury and Les Abraham of the Steele County Free Fair Auto Museum. John Simon is also working on this year's display. This year's featured vehicles are cars of the '60s. 1960s vehicles were featured two years ago and proved so popular that the decision was made to bring them back again in 2017. The Wells Fargo Auto Museum can hold 14, possibly 15, cars depending upon the size of the vehicles. The current list includes about 36 potential cars. The list will be gone over and then whittled down to the final 14 based partly on variety.
Other fair news includes the fact that the stage schedule and the activities, formerly the premium books, are now available at Steele County banks, libraries and the fair office along with other locations.
Volunteers are needed to help man the Muckle Museum during the fair. Keep in mind that the Muckle should be air conditioned by fair time. If you can help out, call the fair office at (507) 451-5305.
Rules for the demo derby and enduro are also available at the fair office, or you may go to the Steele County Free Fair website.
Those who would be interested in working for vendors at the Steele County Free Fair may now stop by the fair office and fill out an application. The vendors, not the fair, will contact you.
Dates of this summer's fair are August 15-20.
