New Ulm, MN (KROC-AM News) - There have now been three fatal crashes on snow-covered highways in the New Ulm area this week.

The most recent tragic incident was a head-on crash on Highway 14 a few miles east of New Ulm. The State Patrol says 23-year-old Aaron Lloyd of North Mankato was killed when an eastbound SUV crossed into the westbound lane and crashed into his car just before 1 PM on Tuesday. The 35-year-old Chaska man driving the SUV was transported to a Mankato hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two other fatal crashes occurred about 2 hours apart on Monday. The State Patrol says 17-year-old Jillian Thompson of St. Peter died after he car collided with a semi-truck on Highway 111 in an area only about 7-miles from the site of Tuesday’s deadly crash, which occurred only a couple miles away from the site of a car-truck collision on Highway 14 at the edge of New Ulm on Monday that claimed the life of a 45-year-old New Ulm woman.
