The National Severe Storms forecast center has issued a Tornado Watch in effect until 10PM for a large portion of Southern Minnnesota.

Counties included in the area are: Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Isanti, Jackson, Le Sueur, Mower, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan and Winona.

The watch indicates that a couple of tornadoes are possible, along with scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph and isolated large hail to 1.5 inches in diameter.

Widely scattered storms developing over southwestern Minnesota will spread northeast this evening with a risk for all severe hazards.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 85 statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north of Saint Cloud to 40 miles southwest of Rochester.
