The Waterville Indians captured three wins in their Wet Willy Amateur Baseball Tournament this weekend to extend their winning streak to 19 games.  The Indians have not lost a game since their season opener 9-3 to Northfield on the road.  After a 2-0 win over Cannon Falls Saturday the host team picked up a 9 inning win over Baseball 365 of Minneapolis 7-6 and rolled by Union Hill 7-1 on Sunday.

They had 7 inning games in the tournament.  It took 9 innings for the Indians to win again Baseball 365.  Bladyn Bartelt threw all 9 innings to notch the victory on the hill with 9 hit allowed, 5 earned runs, 3 walks, 9 strikeouts.  He threw 115 pitches, 79 strikes.

The Indians won the game on a walk off walk in the bottom of the ninth. Tom Gannon was at the plate and Luke Sellner came across with the game winning run.

It did not look good for Waterville early.  Baseball 365 scored 4 runs in the first inning while the Indians scratched out runs in the first and fourth innings.  Baseball 365 scored another run in the top of the 6th inning to take a 5-2 lead.  Waterville plated 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to get the game tied.

Back to back singles by Faribault High School graduate Riley Schultz and Dalton Grose opened the inning.  Gannon gained first due to an error and the bags were full.  Tyler Kaus hit a 2 RBI single.  Sam Stier hit a sacrifice fly to score Gannon.  A double play ended the inning.

In the bottom of the 8th inning Dalton Grose singled to open the Indians half inning.  He was sacrificed to second by Gannon.  Baseball 365 intentionally walked Kaus.  Stier hit into a fielder's choice where they got Grose going to third base for out two.  A pop out ended the threat.

Baseball 365 had a homer to start the top of the 9th and took a 6-5 lead.

Ben Boran singled to start the bottom of the inning.  Sellner laid down a bunt to get Boran to second base and was safe at first due to an error.  Schultz singled to center scoring Boran to tie the game and load the bases.

Following a fly out Gannon had the bases loaded walk off walk to score Sellner.

In the final game of the tournament Waterville pitcher Tom Gannon of Janesville gave them another terrific pitching performance while going the distance.  Gannon had a shut out going into the final inning before Union Hill got a run.  He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, struck out 3 while throwing 88 pitches 57 for strikes.

The Indians stole four bases in the game while collecting 12 hits.  Tyler Kaus had 2 hits, Sam Stier 2 hits, Ben Boran 2 hits, Nate Lee two hits.

Waterville scored in the first inning on a two out single by Ben Boran, scoring Tyler Kaus who opened the inning with a hit.  They added 3 runs in the third inning when Sam Sellner reached base with one out thanks to an error.  Ben Boran singled.  Luke Sellner had an RBI single.  Boran scored on a wild pitch then Nate Lee of Webster grounded out scoring Sellner from third.  A fly out ended the inning.

Waterville added a run in the fourth inning when Kaus stroked a two out double and Sam Stier hit a RBI single.  Stier then stole second base and went to third on a passed ball, but was left at third when the inning ended.

The Indians added two insurance runs in the 6th inning.  Tim Reints came in to bat for Kaus and stroked a single, Stier singled, Shane Sellner hit a RBI single.  Following a strikeout Luke Sellner hit a fly ball scoring Stier.

Waterville hosts the  Prior Lake Mudcats Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
