Road construction season drags on for Owatonna's downtown businesses. The Tuesday Talk e-newsletter from the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (OACCT) invites people to make their way downtown to support their favorite businesses.

The report states, "The businesses on the 300 block of North Cedar have had a long construction summer. Their doors are still open and your support is critical. It's looking like a couple more weeks and that road will be back."

"Additional removals within the 200 block are anticipated in approximately two weeks." Get the full scoop on the North Cedar Streetscape Project.

Members of the OACCT staff had fun, and various degrees of success, at a couple of Steele County Fair events. Julia Seykora won the AM 1390 KRFO / 94.7 FM Ladies Nail Driving contest, driving in the five nails in a time of around 55 seconds. Brad Meier meanwhile was a "total disaster in cow milking contest," according to Tuesday Talk. He completed his assigned task of milking Bella the Cow 22nd out of the 23 contestants.

In other news, the chamber announces the new Workforce Coordinator for SteeleCoWorks. Megan Horton takes over from Anisha Zak who left to take a position with Lead for Minnesota. Horton has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota. She holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
